Interreg V-A Latvia – Lithuania Programme 2014-2020 was approved by the European Commission on 30 November, 2015. The Programme’s objective is to contribute to the sustainable and cohesive socio-economic development of the Programme regions by helping to make them more competitive and attractive for living, working and visiting.

First 5 km of reconstructed road section opened

Today the first road section from Nereta in Latvia to the border of Lithuania that was reconstructed within the project “Easycrossing” was officially unveiled. It is expected, that due to this commuting of local people between Latvia and Lithuania will become quicker and more convenient, which will contribute to the increase of the cross-country employment in the region.

Programme’s photo exhibition moves to Jelgava

After a summer spent at Lithuanian Embassy in Riga, for the next two weeks programme’s exibition will be hosted in Jelgava palace, in the Reading Room of Fundamental Library of Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies. Students and staff will be able to learn more about cross-border cooperation between Latvia and Lithuania on their library visit.

Reporting seminar date changed

Due to technical reasons, seminar on project implementation and reporting requirements for Latvian partners of the projects approved during the 2nd call for proposals will be organized on 13 September. Agenda of the seminar will be the same as previously announced. Registrations are effective for new date.
