As part of the “LingoKey” project, two engaging and activity-filled camps took place in Auce this October. From October 20–22, students from Augstkalne Primary School were joined by their friends from Žagare Gymnasium and Skaistgirė Secondary School in Lithuania. The second camp, held on October 22–24, brought together students and teachers from Auce Secondary School, Joniškis M. Slančiauskas Progymnasium, and Joniškis District’s Gataučiai M. Katiliūtė Primary School.
Both camps offered a vibrant mix of learning, exploration, and cultural exchange. The first day featured a team orienteering challenge around Auce, encouraging teamwork and communication in mixed international groups. Later, participants attended interactive language lessons and an introduction to drone technologies, discovering how drones can be used in various fields. On the second day, participants traveled to Jelgava for an educational excursion. Highlights included visits to the Holy Trinity Church Tower, Jelgava Castle, the observation tower, and a walk through the city’s historic center. The final day was dedicated to exploring Latvian culinary traditions and healthy eating. Students worked together to prepare and enjoy homemade pies, pizzas, boiled peas, and fruit salads — a delicious and rewarding way to end the camp.
The three days flew by in a blur of new experiences, friendships, and learning. Participants returned home enriched with stronger language skills, cultural insights, and unforgettable memories shared with their cross-border partners.
