On the 20th of December, 2024, in Pasvalys Marius Katiliškis Public Library, librarians took part in the first training session of the psychological, communication and educational features of bringing library services to people with disabilities. This is of the utmost importance to properly prepare librarians for work in new “Sensory reading room with PIP”.
The training was led by Gintarė Razulevičiūtė, an ethics teacher-expert who has been working in education for 13 years and is currently studying psychotherapy. She has been living with a disability for nine years and is learning to accept new challenges. The lecturer talked about practical inclusive education, how to better communicate with people who have different disabilities, how to work on self-development, how to develop communication competences, and invited the participants to perform practical tasks.
The training was full of useful information and fun activities. Second part of this training is planned in February.
