The municipalities of Aizkraukle, Biržai, and Jēkabpils will proudly represent the Selonia region at the Adventur 2025 international tourism exhibition. Their participation is part of the cross-border cooperation project “Weekend in Village”, aimed at promoting rural tourism opportunities and attracting visitors to the Selonia region.
The Adventur exhibition, recognized as one of the largest tourism events in the Baltic region, will provide an excellent platform to showcase the diverse tourism offerings of the Selonia region. Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to learn more about authentic rural experiences, local craftsmanship, and unique natural and cultural attractions that make the region a perfect destination for sustainable tourism.
Through the “Weekend in Village” project, Aizkraukle, Biržai, and Jēkabpils municipalities are working together to create new tourism products that highlight the rich heritage and traditions of the region. The project focuses on enhancing the skills of local craftsmen and tourism service providers, fostering cross-border cooperation, and ultimately increasing tourist numbers while encouraging longer stays.
Key Objectives of Participation:
- Promoting Rural Tourism: Presenting the Selonia region as a unique travel destination for visitors seeking authentic countryside experiences.
- Cross-Border Cooperation: Strengthening partnerships and sharing best practices with tourism stakeholders from Latvia and Lithuania.
- Increasing Visibility: Showcasing the region’s tourism potential to a wider audience and attracting new visitors.
- Supporting Local Entrepreneurs: Providing local businesses with opportunities to connect with potential partners and customers.
Throughout the exhibition, representatives from the three municipalities will engage with visitors, tour operators, and media representatives, offering valuable insights into the region’s tourism potential. The exhibition booth will feature interactive elements, promotional materials, and firsthand experiences of the Selonia countryside.
The participation in Adventur 2025 aligns with the broader objectives of the “Weekend in Village” project, which is co-financed by the Interreg VI-A Latvia-Lithuania Cross Border Cooperation Programme 2021-2027, and underscores the commitment of Aizkraukle, Biržai, and Jēkabpils municipalities to developing sustainable and attractive tourism offers.
