Freespace entails a generosity of spirit and a sense of humanity at the core of the agenda in architecture, focusing on the quality of the space itself. Freespaceencourages a review in the ways of thinking, new ways of seeing the world and of inventing solutions, where architecture contributes to the well-being and dignity of each citizen on this fragile planet.
Freespace represents a space, where citizens, entrepreneurs, governmental institutions and any other participants/players from a community can understand each other and collaborate in organizing various activities with the aim of creating a special free and creative ambience. These activities not only help the cultural movement and development of creative industries, but also leave a positive impact on social wellbeing and the development of entrepreneurship.
The workshop focuses on the development of various multidisciplinary solutions for three free space spots in Liepaja by using the tools of multimedia/design/urban planning/architecture and other creative industries: the Creative Quarter in Dārza Street, The Liepaja Music Creative Hub, the Art and Design School, as well as the Great Amber Concert Hall.
