This event invites participants on a journey into a world where small bees create great wonders.

 

During the seminar/creative workshop, participants will become acquainted with the life of a bee colony, the relationships within it, and the key aspects of beekeeping and colony management. The speakers will also discuss the diversity of bee products and their benefits for human health, as well as the essential role bees play in nature and in our everyday lives.

 

The seminar/ creative workshop will be led by Dr. Algirdas Amšiejus and Laura Amšiejūtė.

 

Dr. Algirdas Amšiejus is a Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, an Associate Professor at the Agriculture Academy of Vytautas Magnus University, a beekeeper, a breeder of pedigree queen bees, and the Vice President of the Lithuanian Beekeepers’ Association. He has been engaged in beekeeping for four decades, three of which he has spent working with his own improved multi-storey bottomless hives. He keeps Buckfast bees and is an active enthusiast for the conservation and propagation of all bee species and, more broadly, of hymenopteran pollinators.

 

Laura Amšiejūtė is a lecturer at the Department of Rehabilitation of the Faculty of Medicine at Kauno kolegija Higher Education Institution and an apitherapist. During the event, she will share her knowledge on the application of bee products in health promotion, their effects on the human body, and the possibilities of apitherapy.

 

The event is intended for everyone interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the world of bees, their significance for both humans and ecosystems, and the insights of experienced specialists in the field.
