Educational Event for Specialists: Experience exchange on Volunteer Engagement in Social Services

On 4–5 June, a two-day educational event will bring together specialists working in the field of social work, to explore the role and potential of volunteering in social services.

The training will provide an introduction to volunteering, focusing on its principles, benefits, and practical application within social work services and social care settings. Participants will gain insights into how volunteer involvement can be developed and strengthened to support service users and local communities.

The programme will include expert lectures, group discussions, practical exercises, and experience-sharing sessions. Participants will also learn about good practices of project partner from Lithuania and good practice examples from Latvia, including examples of successful volunteer engagement in social services.

The event is intended for up to 20 specialists and volunteers interested in promoting and developing volunteering opportunities within social services in Tukums Municipality.

This training marks the first step in a broader learning and cooperation process. A follow-up event is planned for the autumn.
