Educational Workshop: “Scented Wax: Creating Solid Perfumes”
Have you ever wondered why some scents bring back childhood memories, while others help us relax or lift our mood? Join us on a journey into the world of fragrances and discover the secrets of beeswax!
The history of perfume dates back to Ancient Egypt, where aromatic substances were used in rituals, beauty practices, and everyday life. Later, the Greeks adopted and refined this knowledge, creating their own perfume recipes using olive oil, honey, wine, and other natural ingredients.
During the workshop, participants will explore the fascinating world of scents, discover the connection between nature, colours, and emotions, and learn how fragrances influence our well-being. Scents directly affect the brain’s emotional centre – the limbic system – and can evoke memories, alter moods, and create unique sensory experiences.
Participants will also discover beeswax as one of the oldest natural materials, traditionally used in beauty treatments, healing ointments, and the production of fragrant products. During the practical session, beeswax will become an important part of both creativity and learning.
