Journalist visit for Lithuanian media “Water tour” Project Public Awareness Day”

Responsible partner:

Project partner Directorate of Aukštaitija National Park and Labanoras Regional Park, together with the Directorate of Aukštaitija Protected Areas, is organising the project LL-00134 “Water Tour” Public Awareness Day for representatives of the press and tourism journalists.

The event aims to introduce the project activities, visit the project sites, and promote water tourism routes in the Aukštaitija region.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore the natural and cultural heritage of the region, learn more about sustainable water tourism opportunities, and experience the unique waterways of Aukštaitija.

7:00 We meet in Vilnius (International Bus Terminal near the “Panorama” Shopping Center (Stirnų St.)
7:10–8:45 Trip to Anykščiai Regional Park.
8:45–10:00 Anykščiai Regional Park Visitor Center, Tree Top Walk, rope bridge, water tourism and recreational infrastructure
on the Šventoji River.
10:00–10:40 Trip to Padvarninkai Village, “Marijos trobelė”
10:40–12:35 Education and activities (lunch), local businesses, apple cheese, and more.
12:35–13:50 Trip to Labanoras Regional Park
13:50–15:30 Visit to the Ancient Celestial Observatory; Local Guide Jonas Vaiškūnas presents the Lithuanian zodiac and humanity’s relationship with the Universe.
3:30–4:00 PM Bus trip to the Aisetas ferry crossing
4:00–4:40 PM Ferry ride across the Aisetas River
4:40–5:10 PM Bus trip to Labanoras
17:10–17:30 Labanoras Regional Park Visitor Center, nature exhibition.
17:30–18:00 Labanoras bagpipe mass at Labanoras Church.
18:00–19:30 Farewell, trip to Vilnius.
