The experts started to develop the Methodology for promotion of social inclusion and health recreation using sensory garden’s environment in the spring of 2021. The methodology will include the need for sensory stimulation for people with various disabilities, sensory integration disorders, and possible therapeutic methods in the sensory garden.
The aim of the methodology is to enable specialists of social and educational service institutions, health care and social rehabilitation centers to use the sensory garden environment to achieve the fullness of life, mental and physical health rehabilitation / strengthening and social integration of people of different age and different disabilities.
The Experts presented the project of the methodology for promotion of social inclusion and health recreation using sensory garden’s environment on 8 July 2021. The project partners got acquainted and provided comments. Experts of the methodology were working on the spot accepting the plants and preparing them for the practical training courses. Over 230 participants took part in the practical trainings. Participants represented educational and social organizations. Preschoolers with and without disabilities were joined in one group; teenagers were creating plans and planting together with retired people from day centres; children with different disabilities took part in the trainings together with their parents. All the groups from the training courses were invited to take part in the spring activities in the Klaipeda sensory garden.
