During the fourth reporting period of the INCLUSIVE project, partners from Lithuania and Latvia continued the implementation of planned activities aimed at strengthening the accessibility of inclusive library services, developing social inclusion measures, and promoting emotional well-being and digital inclusion for various target groups.
One of the main results was the implementation of the mobile library (bibliobus) activities. The fully equipped mobile library started systematic visits to rural areas of the Pasvalys district, ensuring access to library, educational, digital literacy, and sensory services for residents in remote communities. As a multifunctional and accessible service space, the bibliobus also supports the inclusion of persons with disabilities and socially vulnerable groups. During the reporting period, the bibliobus also visited Latvian partner regions – Jelgava and Augšdaugava municipalities – where mobile library services and sensory reading methodologies were presented and applied in practice.
Significant progress was achieved in the development of sensory reading spaces in partner libraries. The sensory reading room in Subate was officially opened and started operating as a multifunctional space aimed at social inclusion, learning, and emotional well-being. Sensory reading rooms in partner libraries continue to function as inclusive environments, integrating sensory experiences, educational activities, and mental well-being support, and are integrated into regular library services.
An important international activity was the photo exhibition “My Emotions”, which was presented in Pasvalys and later travelled across partner regions in Latvia. The exhibition featured 40 selected works from more than 200 submitted photographs, reflecting emotional well-being, everyday experiences, and moments of inspiration.
During the reporting period, various training sessions, educational activities, and workshops were implemented by partner libraries, focusing on digital inclusion, emotional well-being, and social integration. In addition, an international partner exchange visit took place, during which good practices were shared regarding the application of sensory methods, service development, and improved approaches for working with socially vulnerable groups.
Another important achievement during the reporting period was the launch of the virtual methodological platform InclusiveLibraries.eu. The platform was further developed with methodological, educational, and practical content, and a dedicated visual identity and logo were created. InclusiveLibraries.eu serves as a resource hub for librarians and other cultural and educational professionals working with socially vulnerable groups, providing tools, good practices, and innovative methods to strengthen social inclusion, emotional well-being, and the use of sensory approaches in library services.
Due to the scope and intensity of activities implemented within the project, as well as the need to ensure the effective completion and dissemination of project outputs, the INCLUSIVE project was extended until the end of July 2026. The extension period will support the finalization of planned activities, wider promotion of project results, and the long-term sustainability of the developed services, methodologies, and tools.
In conclusion, the fourth reporting period was characterized by consistent implementation of project activities and strengthened results. Mobile library services, development and use of sensory spaces, the international exchange visit, the launch of the InclusiveLibraries.eu platform, and joint educational activities significantly contributed to the strengthening of an inclusive library network across the programme region.
