Representatives of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) from Liepāja took part in an experience exchange visit to the Klaipėda district in Lithuania. During the trip, participants had the opportunity to meet with local NGOs, municipal representatives, and community leaders. The participants learned about different approaches to community engagement, volunteer work, and the development of social initiatives. Particular attention was given to successful examples of cooperation between NGOs and the local government.
The programme included visits to several organisations and community centres, where participants explored how projects are implemented in practice. Discussions focused on topics such as civic participation, social services, and sustainable development of local communities.
Experience exchange and networking are key elements of the project “NGO Capacity” , helping to build stronger partnerships across borders and encouraging the transfer of knowledge and good practices.
Participants from Liepāja highlighted that the visit provided valuable insights and inspiration for their own work. They gained new ideas on how to improve NGO activities, strengthen community involvement, and develop future initiatives.
Overall, the visit contributed to fostering long-term cooperation between Latvian and Lithuanian organisations, promoting mutual learning and regional development.
