Online seminar introduced the upgraded riverways.eu platform

,

On 31 August, the Kurzeme Planning Region held an online seminar dedicated to the upgraded riverways.eu platform, bringing together water tourism service providers, municipal specialists, and other interested participants from across Latvia. The aim of the event was to present the platform’s new functionalities and provide a practical insight into its use for route planning and ensuring safe movement along Latvia’s rivers.

Participants received a detailed presentation of the platform, highlighting the most significant improvements – more user‑friendly navigation, clearer route‑planning tools, and an enhanced information structure.

The seminar also included a practical demonstration, showing how to create a route, adapt information to individual needs, and download materials. At the end of the event, participants actively engaged in a discussion, sharing their experiences and offering suggestions for further platform development.

Seminar participants acknowledged that the new version of riverways.eu is an important step in the digitalization of water tourism, making route planning more convenient, safer, and more accessible for both service providers and outdoor recreation enthusiasts. The opportunity to access up‑to‑date information about river sections and safety aspects in one place was also positively evaluated.
