Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary parish in Ignalina has the unused space of 158 square meters , where youth day center is aimed at equipping. The aim for this youth center is to provide opportunities for youth from social exclusion for self-expression, cooperation and other creative and participatory activity. We hope that after this work is finished more young people will have the opportunity to unfold and develop their talents (music, sports, culinary, etc.).
Ignalina lacks of essentially underdeveloped charity canteens and poor people completely limit the opportunity of a balanced diet. Therefore the parish take the initiative to seek the kitchen and charitable dining room.
These works are done to prepare accommodation for the project activities:
– Roof repair
– New windows
– New doors
– Electricity system repair
– Heating system repair
– Water supply system repair
– Floor renewal
– Walls redecorating
The budget for youth center repairment and equipment cofunded by European Regional Development Fund is 50 624 Eur.
The Interreg V-A Latvia – Lithuania Cross Border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020 aims to contribute to the sustainable and cohesive socio-economic development of the Ignalina and Daugavpils regions by helping to make them competitive and attractive for living, working and visiting.
