On 14 May 2026, Klaipėda District Tourism Information Centre welcomed project partners and guests from Latvia as part of the BIRDIE – Bird-watching Network along the Baltic Coast project to present the results achieved through the project.
During the visit, participants were introduced to a range of newly developed attractions and educational solutions designed to enrich the birdwatching experience. These included permanent birdwatching binoculars, a hologram display, an interactive information stand for birdwatchers, educational games such as “Guess the Bird” and the “Discover the Birds of the Klaipėda Region” puzzle, as well as the virtual experience “Bird’s Flight”.
Participants also visited Gargždai, Dreverna, Ventė and Karklė, where they explored key birdwatching sites and learned more about the birdwatching opportunities and natural heritage of the Klaipėda region.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity for project partners to exchange experience, share good practices and further strengthen cross-border cooperation in developing sustainable birdwatching tourism along the Baltic coast.
