To ensure the comprehensive implementation of the project concept and absorption of the available resources, project “Improving cross border cooperation in the field of peat fire prevention and response” (PeatFire, LL-00007) has been extended till the end of June 2026, total project duration 29 month.
Project aims to enhance environmental safety and climate resilience in Latgale and Siauliai regions by addressing the threat of peat wildfires and reducing environmental pollution. Focused on rising awareness and improving cooperation and capacity of regional rescue services, project targets to prevent and control peat fires by developing and introducing upgraded and effective cross-border peat wildfire prevention and suppression methods.
