Public concert and exhibition “Together in Art” in Ludza

Within the framework of the Interreg VI-A Latvia–Lithuania project LL-00146 “Together in Art” – Building better understanding between Molėtai and Ludza through music and art, under Work Package 1 “Joint capacity building for better Cultural Understanding through music”, the project partner PP2 – Ludza Municipality (Latvia) implemented Activity 1.7 Public concert – exhibition “Together in Art” in Latvia.

The final project event took place on 23–24 February 2026 in Ludza, Latvia, bringing together students, teachers, and cultural audiences from Latvia and Lithuania. The activity represented a key milestone in presenting the results of long-term artistic cooperation developed within the project.

Music programme

The public concert featured performances by young musicians from Ludza, Kārsava, Zilupe, and Molėtai, including instrumental ensembles, choir, and orchestra.

During the project implementation period, participants and teachers worked on specially prepared arrangements of Latvian and Lithuanian traditional music. The final concert demonstrated the outcomes of this joint work, presenting a coherent and emotionally expressive musical programme.

Despite limited opportunities for extensive joint rehearsals, the performers delivered a unified artistic performance, reflecting strong preparation, professional guidance from teachers, and high engagement of students.

Visual arts exhibition

In parallel with the concert, a ceramics exhibition was presented in Ludza. The exhibition included works created by students and teachers during joint creative workshops implemented in Ludza, Rogovka, Liepāja, Krāslava, and Molėtai.

The displayed works reflected cross-border artistic exchange, experimentation with materials and techniques, and cooperation between partner institutions. The exhibition remains available for public viewing at the Ludza Local History Museum.

Cultural cooperation and results

The event demonstrated the importance of cultural and artistic collaboration between Latvia and Lithuania. Joint activities enabled participants to develop artistic skills, strengthen intercultural communication, and establish long-term professional and personal connections.

Music and visual arts served as a shared platform for expression, fostering mutual understanding beyond linguistic and national boundaries.
