The cross-border project, which connects two stunning cultural heritage sites – Preili Castle in Latvia and Utena Manor in Lithuania – continues its active implementation. Due to the procurement evaluation process, the project implementation period has been extended until November 30, 2026, ensuring all planned activities are completed with the highest quality.
Currently, intensive work is underway on the execution of concluded contracts. Already this summer, a fully equipped conference hall in Preili Castle will be open to visitors, unlocking new opportunities for hosting diverse events and conferences. Concurrently, the development of innovative digital tourism products is in progress, aiming to transform both historical sites into dynamic and modern tourist destinations.
Preili Castle Presentation Event – August 21
The project team of the Preili Municipality Government is actively preparing for one of the most anticipated events of the summer – the Preili Castle presentation event, which will take place on August 21. On this day, the castle will open its doors wide to all visitors, offering:
- Exploring History: Guided tours will give visitors a chance to discover the castle’s history and explore its current tourism offerings.
- A Special Festive Atmosphere: Throughout the evening, the castle will be illuminated with unique lighting displays, creating a mysterious and celebratory ambiance.
- Neighborly Unity: Project partners from the Utena Municipality in Lithuania will attend to celebrate these joint achievements.
- A Cultural Program for All Generations:
- Visitors will be treated to an exquisite classical music concert on stage.
- As the evening progresses, the youth music group competition “Zelta Krauklis” (The Golden Raven) will take place near Preili Castle.
- An energetic and exciting spirit will be added to the event by the “VeloReivs” (VeloRave) cycling event, which will finish right at Preili Castle.
Through these diverse activities, Preili Castle positions itself as a versatile tourist destination capable of engaging and captivating different generations and target audiences. It is an attraction that truly “shines” in Preili right now!
