Stories that sell: How to create engaging experiences on the palte and in the apiarystories that sell

,

People don’t remember the taste, the image, or the information – they remember the emotion. It’s hard to say how many emotions the participants of the seminar “Stories That Sell: How to Create Engaging Stories. Experience on a Plate and in the Apiary” took home, but one thing is certain – emotions were overflowing.

At the Vytautas Vitkauskas Public Library of Šiauliai District Municipality, honey sommelier Rasa Nabažaitė shared her insights. She is one of only 407 honey experts in the world and the only one in the Baltic States.

“How many beekeepers are here?” – that was the guest’s first question. Seeing the raised hands, she immediately understood the kind of audience she was dealing with. Professional and hobbyist beekeepers asked bold questions, took careful notes, and shared their experiences.

Participants from the Šiauliai region and Latvia enriched their knowledge about the “immortality” of honey, the “battle with sugar,” and other subtleties.

A pinch of theory and even an 8‑type honey tasting: acacia, chestnut, Sosnowsky hogweed, lavender… color, taste, aroma. So many experiments! It was an endlessly interesting experience not only to taste but also to learn how to describe those tastes. And the multitude of aftertaste associations! The flavors truly differ. Some smell leather, others rustic soap, hay, flowers – you can’t describe it in one word.

The topic of honey is inexhaustible. However, Rasa Nabažaitė’s seminar inspired participants to look at their apiaries, product packaging, and communication in a new way. So many sensations. So much homework. Motivation reaching the sky. And that is the best result – when you return home not only with knowledge, but also emotions, and above all – a great urge to take a spoon and taste your own bees’ honey.

The creative workshop/seminar is organized as part of the 2021–2027 Interreg VI-A Latvia–Lithuania Cross-Border Cooperation Programme, Priority 4 “Economic Potential of Tourism and Heritage,” project “Enhancing Tourism Through the Development of the Bee Route from Kuršėnai to Ventspils” (Project code: LL-00198, acronym: Busy Bee/Užimta bitė).
