On Monday, 20 April, the kick-off meeting of the MassMovement project (LL-00310) took place. The meeting brought together project partners and team representatives from Latvia and Lithuania, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Smart Administration and Regional Development.
The project places special emphasis on society — informing residents, raising awareness, and developing practical skills. Through information campaigns, training sessions, and practical scenarios, both individual and community resilience will be strengthened so that people know how to act and feel safer in crisis situations.
The project also includes practical evacuation exercises, and the partners are already planning to implement the first such exercises in the summer of 2026. These exercises will focus on strengthening interinstitutional cooperation and testing evacuation procedures under realistic conditions, ensuring that, if necessary, evacuations are carried out in an organized, timely, and efficient manner.
During the meeting, participants discussed the project’s main expected results, the plan for upcoming activities, the roles of the partners, as well as communication and public engagement activities.
