Through the implementation of the Latvia–Lithuania cross-border cooperation programme project EMERG, Dobele County Municipality has acquired a new, specially equipped Renault Master vehicle. The new vehicle will ensure efficient and safe transport for persons with functional disability, significantly improving mobile care operations throughout the entire territory of the municipality.
Key Benefits for Residents:
- Care at Residences and Hygiene Centers: The vehicle has been handed over to the mobile care office to provide care for seniors, individuals with mobility impairments, as well as to transport them to hygiene centers.
- Transportation of People lying down: Previously, the Municipality lacked this capability and had to outsource the service. Now, the specialized transportation is adapted for the safe and dignified transport of lying down individuals to health and social care institutions.
- Adapted for Diverse Needs: The vehicle can transport multiple people in wheelchairs simultaneously, includes seats for accompanying personnel, and can also be used for evacuating residents from remote rural areas in emergency situations.
The specialized vehicle was custom-made and delivered by SIA “Universāls LTD”. The goal of the project is to improve the accessibility of social services for elderly people in remote regions and to strengthen capacity in emergency situations.
