Klaipeda St. Francis of Assisi monastery of the St. Casimir province of the Order of Friars Minor organized first part of the planned theoretical training courses.
25 parents, family members, volunteers and 20 Social workers and teachers participated on 4 trainings in June of 2021. 23 Specialists attended 4 theoretical courses in July of 2021. In total was trained 68 participants. Participants attended lectures of the health benefits of natural therapies, the use of sensory garden space for educational purposes, sensory and social integration, got acquainted with the monastery’s sensory garden structure, plants and equipment, learned what activities can be organized in the garden at different times of the year. Participants learned about physical exercises to help relax, learned about the effects of physical activity on brain activity.
