Enhancing social inclusion and empowerment of vulnerable groups through integrated and creative methodologies

Common territorial challenge (s) that will be tackled by the project

Lithuania and Latvia face common challenges in integrating diverse vulnerable groups due to the fragmented nature of the social services. Despite the proven benefits of the artistic and creative activities for the mental and physical health, there is a lack of a methodology for integrated creativity-based social services that facilitates the inclusion of members from diverse vulnerable groups.

Project objective

The project aims to transform social service delivery in Šiauliai (Lithuania) and Kalupe (Latvia) by integrating creative methodologies into social services of vulnerable groups. It focuses on promoting cross-group integration by forming mixed groups that include members from various vulnerable populations.

Planned activities

The project key output is elaboration and piloting of a unified methodology for social inclusion of vulnerable groups through creative activities, including music, ceramics and art. This will help to standardise the use of artistic techniques in social services. The project will also include creative music, ceramics and art workshops for mixed vulnerable groups and acquiring of the necessary equipment. Trainings will be organized for social services employees on how to apply the methodology. The cross-border cooperation, sharing experiences and expertise are essential to enhance the project‘s impact on social care for vulnerable groups across the region. By bringing diverse groups together, the project fosters mutual support, inclusive environment and social integration. Its outcomes and methodology will be widely shared to influence policy and enhance national social care practices.
