Speed up the rehabilitation through digitalization as a mean of social inclusion

Common territorial challenge (s) that will be tackled by the project

Lithuania and Latvia face common challenges in supporting vulnerable populations, particularly children and the elderly with physical and mental disabilities. Both countries lack innovative digital rehabilitation solutions that promote faster recovery, greater social inclusion, and lower risk of relapse for these groups. This project aims to create an innovative digital health solution which would accelerate the rehabilitation process and improve social inclusion for vulnerable groups. By introducing advanced digital tools, the project will enhance participation, speed up recovery, and reduce the likelihood of relapse, ultimately supporting a smoother return to society.

Project objective

To create the innovative digital rehabilitation measure for speeding up the successful inclusion of vulnerable groups into society.

Planned activities

The measures will be implemented in Palanga and Kintai in Lithuania and Liepāja in Latvia. The rehabilitation spaces in three institutions will be equipped with innovative digital health solutions. The project will provide theoretical and practical training for specialists, create Methodical Manual, and test the new approach with over 700 patients. In total 15 specialists will improve their qualifications, and more than 3 000 patients will benefit annually. In total 420 patients will participate in theoretical-practical trainings of rehabilitation as a prerequisite for better social inclusion. The cross-border cooperation opens possibilities to create innovative approaches for sustaining and increasing mental, physical health in vulnerable children and elderly groups with neuro-warried disabilities. It also opens increase social-medical collaboration.
