Baisogala marked the 37th anniversary of the Baltic Way with a concert programme entitled Following the Paths of Our Ancestors, presented by ensembles from the Tytuvėnai Culture Centre. The programme featured the following ensembles: the women’s traditional dance group Uliava, led by Henrika Barkauskienė; the traditional folk band Tytuvėnų krašto armonikieriai and the folklore ensemble Parubežė, both led by Stasys Butkus.
At the same time, this was the first concert of the LAT-LIT project’s joint programme. Through music, shared experiences and joint performances, the project creates new opportunities for cultural exchange between Lithuanian and Latvian communities.
The activities are being implemented as part of the Interreg VI-A Latvia–Lithuania project Revitalizing People-to-People Interaction through Youth Engagement in Traditional Lithuanian and Latvian Culture Activities. The project is partially funded by Kelmė District Municipality.
