Common territorial challenge (s) that will be tackled by the project

Baltic region social entrepreneurs play an increasingly important role in tackling society's most pressing problems. Several crises of previous years such as Covid pandemic and its after effects, the ongoing war in Ukraine, rising energy prices and inflation have shown the importance of society's involvement, inclusiveness, innovative solutions and approaches. It is foremost important to offer support in regions. Local leaders are the ones to see the potential gaps to be filled with innovative, grassroot level solutions. The following territorial challenges will be tackled to reach the project's objective: - Lack of commitment of the public sector. ESEM (The European Social Enterprise Monitoring, 2021) data shows that most of the respondents in Latvia evaluate political support for social

Project objective

The overall objective of the project is to empower the regional social entrepreneurship ecosystem in Zemgale and Northern Lithuanian regions by strengthening the capacity of social entrepreneurs, bringing ownership to the public sector, supporting educators and promoting best experience stories, thus fostering positive social impact for local communities.
