Established new infrastructure under project LL-00134 “WaterTour” in Labanoras Regional Park

Now all visitors can cross Lithuania’s longest lake, Aisetas, on their own!

On September 24, 2025, Visitor Center in Labanoras regional park hosted the opening of a new ferry across Lake Aisetas. This ferry connects not only the shores of the lake but also tourist routes that stretch across different municipalities.

Project coordinator Žydrius Mukulys presented the idea and history of the project to the guests, along with the newly established Labanoras–Kulionys cycling and walking route.

Representatives of the Švenčionys, Molėtai, and Utena district municipalities, project partners, and colleagues who attended the event took part in a symbolic bicycle ride to the ferry, where they had the chance to try it out themselves.

Visitors to our park will now be able to use the ferry independently. This offers a new experience and another opportunity to discover the unique landscapes of Labanoras regional park, as well as easier access to friends or places of interest in neighboring municipalities.

The Aisetas ferry was installed as part of the project “Enhancement of Sustainable Water Tourism in the Lithuania–Latvia Cross-Border Region, Involving Local Entrepreneurs and Communities” (WaterTour, LL-00134), funded under the 2021–2027 Interreg VI-A Latvia–Lithuania Cross-Border Cooperation Program.
