As planned, the improvement works along the shoreline of the Lazdininkai Pond were completed before the end of this year.
The project included the installation of a small beach along the shoreline, a volleyball court and a children’s playground. Also, three arbors and two footbridges were installed, one of which is fully accessible. In addition, new walking paths were laid, and the car parking area was upgraded. “We believe that the newly improved shoreline will become an even more convenient and attractive place for leisure activities,” said Antanas Kalnius, Mayor of Kretinga District Municipality.
These improvement works at Lazdininkai Pond were carried out under the Interreg VI-A Latvia–Lithuania Programme 2021–2027 project No. LL-00011, “Development of the water routes network in Latvia and Lithuania by further expanding the cross-Border tourism product www.riverways.eu” (“WaterWays”).
The project is co-funded by the Interreg VI-A Latvia–Lithuania Programme 2021–2027.
The project was implemented by the Kretinga District Municipality Administration.
The construction works were carried out by UAB “Arkosta”.
The total cost of the improvement works amounted to EUR 75,000.
