Seminar “Development of a military heritage tourism product and creation of a cooperation network in the Zemgale region”
Zemgale planning region, implementing the project “Military Heritage II”, invites those interested in history to participate in a seminar, where it will be possible to learn about the military heritage tourism objects in the Zemgale region, as well as to visit the Christmas Battle Museum and its surroundings under the guidance of the museum manager.
The aim of the seminar is to introduce the owners of military heritage objects, entrepreneurs and tourism specialists of Zemgale to the main benefits of cooperation and promotion of military heritage.
The participants of the seminar will have the opportunity to listen about military heritage in Jelgava city and Aizkraukle, Bauska, Jelgava counties. The first step initiating Baltic military heritage tourism has been made by launching the Latvian-Estonian military heritage tourism product, so the representatives of the previous project will also share the experience and lessons learned. Therefore, upon completion of the new “Military Heritage II” project, the entire territory of the Baltic States will be identified and a wide information of military heritage tourism will be available.
The seminar is planned in 2 parts:
- Presentations and networking at Bistro “Silva” (Jelgava, Driksas iela 9, Bistro “Silva”, 2nd floor);
- Visit to the Christmas Battle Museum (“Mangaļi”, Valgunde Parish, Jelgava County) (organized transport is not provided).
