In the framework of the Latvia-Lithuania Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2021-2027 project “Development of Mobile Multi-Service Concept for Socially Vulnerable Groups in Livani and Mažeikiai” (acronym – “MultiMobile”) No LL-00088 at the end of 2024, training on cooperation, engagement and communication was organised for municipality employees.

The aim of the training was to improve and develop the communication skills of the Līvāni municipality specialists in their daily work with citizens/clients. The target group of the training were employees of Livani municipality who work with residents/clients on a daily basis, including socially vulnerable persons (employees of the Social Service, Orphan’s Court, libraries, customer service centres).

A total of 20 staff participated in the training (12 academic hours per participant). The staff learnt how to build more effective relationships with clients/residents, how to better understand their needs and wishes, how to better solve problems and conflict situations. Effective communication is also very important among staff themselves and with other institutions.

The project includes a number of activities:

  • Purchase of a new electric minibus equipped with all the necessary equipment to provide digital services to the population in each of the partner municipalities;
  • Development of methodological guidelines for the new mobile social service;
  • Organisation of experience exchange events;
  • Video presentation of the development of the new mobile social service;
  • Development and purchase of informative materials (booklets) for distribution purposes. It is expected to be delivered in summer 2025.

The project will help to establish a new social service in Livani municipality – a mobile customer service centre, which will provide services to residents at their place of residence in the territory of Livani municipality upon their request.

Two partners are involved in the implementation of the project – the lead project partner Livani Municipality and the project partner Mažeikiai District Municipality in Lithuania.

The project funding is available under Priority 3 – Fair and Inclusive Society of the Latvia-Lithuania Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2021-2027. The total budget of the project for both countries is EUR 420 222.27, of which ERDF funds amount to EUR 336 177.82 (80%). The project partners’ own contribution is EUR 84 044.45.

The duration of the project is 24 months (01.02.2024-31.01.2026)
