Tourism representatives deepened their knowledge on the topic of innovation and digital tools

,

On February 25, the training “Innovation and Digital Tools: The Path to a Tourism Breakthrough” took place in the Akmenė District Municipality. The training was organized under the 2021–2027 Interreg VI-A Latvia and Lithuania Programme project “Reclaimed History” (LL-00061), co-financed by the European Union.

Two presentations were presented during the training. Dr. Vilija Malinauskaitė, CEO of UAB “Travel Deli”, business consultant, lecturer at Vilnius University Business School, delivered a presentation “Innovative solutions for presenting cultural heritage – how can we engage visitors?”. She shared insights into the types of tourism innovations, the most important aspects of digitization in museums and tourist attractions, what consumers need, and successful examples of innovations in the field of tourism.

The second part of the training was dedicated to artificial intelligence as one of the main tools for digitalization. Lecturer Tadas Narutavičius presented examples of the use of artificial intelligence in tourism, provided practical advice on how to correctly formulate requests, and discussed issues of artificial intelligence regulation.

The training was attended by representatives from the Šiauliai District Tourism and Business Information Center, Joniškis Tourism and Business Information Center, Kelmė District Tourism and Business Information Center, Directorate of Žemaitija protected areas, and the Akmenė District tourism sector.

This training provided many valuable insights into tourism innovations, the application of technologies, and practical recommendations that the participants intend to apply in implementing future plans.
