At the end of June, the international camp “GO GREEN!” took place at RC “Dūjas,” where young people from Aizkraukle Municipality and Biržai gained unforgettable experiences in exploring the environment, made new friends, and developed skills that will help them become responsible environmental advocates within their communities. Together, they learned, explored, and practiced the core principles of a sustainable lifestyle.
The aim of the camp was to promote young people’s understanding of nature conservation, biodiversity, and the importance of a greener lifestyle in everyday life. Over three days, participants took part in educational seminars and discussions, practical workshops on zero-waste living, nature exploration hikes, as well as team games and creative activities. The working language of the camp was English, thereby strengthening the participants’ language skills and fostering international cooperation.
The camp was organized within the project “Preservation of Biodiversity and Natural Ecosystems through the Development of Sustainable Management of Recreational Areas in Biržai and Aizkraukle” (LL-00045) implemented under the Interreg VI-A Latvia–Lithuania Programme 2021–2027 with the support of funding from the European Regional Development Fund.
