On May 15–16, 2025, an international traineeship for kayaking coaches took place in Daugavpils, bringing together specialists from Daugavpils, Liepāja, and Panevėžys. The traineeship focused on developing coaches’ practical skills in working with children and youth with special needs, including intellectual disabilities. Participants engaged in adapted kayaking sessions in the gym and pool, observed real training with youngsters, and took part in water rescue exercises.
These hands-on activities provided valuable insight into inclusive training methods and created space for professional exchange and collaboration. Coaches discussed challenges, shared experiences, and explored ways to support not only athletic skills but also social integration and confidence-building among young participants.
