On 24-26 November 2024, in Liepaja, Latvia students and pedagogues from the Molėtai School of Arts and the Ludza Art School had the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and practical skills in leatherwork and ceramics as part of the project LL-00146 “Together in Art.”
During the workshops, participants created leather belts, keychains, and decorated porcelain plates with a special glaze paper called “decole.” This hands-on experience not only allowed them to explore traditional crafts but also nurtured creativity and precision.
In addition to the practical activities, the project program was enriched with cultural and educational excursions. The group visited the Liepaja military port, where they explored World War I fortifications. This historical site left a lasting impression with its grandeur and significance. They also visited “Ponija Hoijere’s” house – a unique museum where the interiors of the 17th–19th centuries have been reconstructed. This place allowed them to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the past and feel the spirit of life during that time.
After these intense and fascinating days, the students and pedagogues returned home full of impressions and new experiences, happy about the meaningful time spent and the skills they acquired.
