Project activities have been launched with project partners kick-off meeting on April 9.
In August of this year, improvement works have started in the garden of the Livonian Castle in Dobele.
Contracts have been signed with the contractor SIA “Legāts”, construction supervision will be carried out by SIA “Somniar”, author supervision – SIA “Rūķis AG”, archaeological supervision will be provided by archaeologist and historian Andris Tomašūns.
Constraction works include the installation of benches and waste bins, the construction of gravel walkways, lighting, lighting of the castle wall and individual trees.
The existing boxes with plants from the Duchess Elizabeth Magdalena Garden will be integrated into the landscaped area after the improvement works, which are planned to complete in 5 months.
A procurement is being prepared for the purchase of an interactive mobile app (QR code) for the Dobele Castle Medicinal Plant Garden “Discover the Garden of Duchess Elizabeth Magdalena”.
Both partners ensured publicity for the project on the municipal website, as well as an article in the local newspaper.
