Livani County Municipality has received delivery of a new electric minibus as part of the “MultiMobile” project, marking a significant step forward in bringing essential services directly to rural communities.
The electric vehicle, delivered on July 4, will serve as a mobile social service center, bringing government services, social support, and digital assistance to residents in the most remote areas of Livani region. The bus is currently undergoing testing before entering full service. Testing of the electric bus will ensure all systems are fully operational before the mobile service begins visiting remote communities across Livani region.
“This mobile service will be a game-changer for our elderly residents and those with mobility challenges who struggle to reach parish or county centers,” said a municipal representative. “We’re bringing the services directly to where people live.”
The minibus has been specially adapted by SIA “UNIVERSĀLS LTD” with office furniture and computer equipment to function as a complete mobile service center. Services will include social assistance applications, orphans’ court proceedings, library services, and other municipal functions.
The initiative is part of the cross-border “MultiMobile” project (LL-00088) implemented in partnership with Mažeikiai District Municipality in Lithuania. The project aims to improve service accessibility for socially vulnerable groups in remote rural areas through mobile digital solutions.
