Guides and tourism service providers participated in the training

The Directorate of Aukštaitija Protected Areas, implementing the project No. LL-00134 “Enhancement of sustainable water tourism in Lithuania-Latvia cross-border region, involving local entrepreneurs and communities”, WaterTour, organized three trainings for guides and tourism service providers.
On May 26, 2025, the training “Communication with disabled people and people with special needs” was held at the Gražutė Regional Park Visitor Center. The training participants delved into the diversity of needs of people with disabilities, learned social skills in communicating with disabled children, and became familiar with effective communication tools.
On May 27, 2025, the training “Management of conflict situations and stress” held at the Biržai Regional Park Visitor Center, the participants assessed their personal competencies and leadership qualities, delved into conflict resolution strategies and stress coping methods.
On May 29, 2025, at the Anykščiai Regional Park Visitor Center, during the “Practical Training of Educators and Guides”, aspects of service provision and communication with tourists, organization of excursions and route development were discussed. The principles of sustainable and responsible tourism, as well as the use of practices and technologies in tourism and measures to reduce seasonality were presented.
The training participants learned how to better communicate with people with disabilities, manage stress and resolve conflicts. Experience was gained on how to organize better excursions, apply the principles of sustainable tourism and better use new technologies in tourism, and ideas were received on how to reduce seasonality.
The project is funded by the 2021-2027 Interreg VI-A Latvia and Lithuania Programme.
