Planned Activities for the 3rd Project INCLUSIVE Period

On June 13, 2025, an online meeting of INCLUSIVE project partners took place. A total of 8 representatives participated. The objective of the meeting was to review and discuss the activities planned for the 3rd project period, which runs from May 1, 2025, to October 31, 2025.

Following this meeting, the activities for the third implementation period of the INCLUSIVE project were confirmed. The planned actions, covering the months of June through October, reflect both new initiatives and the continuation of earlier work. These efforts focus on awareness-raising, capacity building, inter-institutional cooperation, and direct inclusion activities for target groups, in line with the current work plan.

1. Dissemination and Awareness Activities

During this period, several dissemination efforts are planned to promote the project and raise awareness of social exclusion issues. These include the dissemination event of “Social exclusion reduction campaign”, which will be organized in each participating municipality. Additionally, the “Improve your skills and feel good” mission in regional press will result in the publication of three success stories — one in each municipality — to highlight personal achievements and promote inclusion. A second motivational video clip will be produced, focusing on the benefits of newly introduced services and fostering positive societal attitudes toward socially excluded groups.

2. Capacity Building and Institutional Collaboration

Library employees will continue to strengthen their competencies through targeted trainings. The activity “The psychological, communication and educational features of socially excluded persons” includes specialized sessions for staff in Pasvalys and Zalenieki, as well as an international competence supervision module, where librarians from all partner municipalities will receive guidance on working with people in vulnerable situations.

The project will also facilitate a two-day exchange of experience trip to Zalenieki Library, fostering cross-border knowledge sharing. Furthermore, inter-institutional cooperation trainings will resume in Jelgava and Augšdaugava municipalities, focusing on collaboration between libraries, NGOs, health and social service providers—particularly important since some components were not completed during the previous period.

3. Target Group Training and Inclusion Activities

New inclusion-focused activities will begin in this period. Notably, psychological group consultations using the sensory method “Motivated book reading and self-employment” will be launched, providing structured support to seniors, people with disabilities, and children at risk of social exclusion.

Once the sensory reading rooms in Jelgava and Augšdaugava are fully equipped, group training for target groups “Learning digital literacy using the sensory therapy method” will be introduced. These activities will provide essential digital and emotional skills through a unique combination of education and sensory stimulation.

Creative engagement will also be promoted through the photo contest “My Emotions”, which is currently in preparation phase and will culminate in a traveling exhibition.

In parallel, infrastructure development is underway. The Bibliobus – mobile sensory reading room is being set up, designed to bring inclusive services to more remote areas. At the same time, sensory reading rooms are being equipped across municipalities with furniture, computer lab equipment, sensory equipment, mental health promotion tools, and sensory reading books to ensure high-quality service delivery to target groups.
