Positive Ageing Workshop in Šiauliai: ideas, inspiration and community building

On 15-16 April 2024, leading partner Northern Lithuania College hosted an inspiring and meaningful activity of the Positive Ageing Hub project – a two-day Co-creation workshop on Positive Ageing Hub vision, which brought together the Lithuanian (Northern Lithuania College) and Latvian (Latvian Red Cross) partners, experts Dr. Jurgita Joniškienė and Dr. Jūratė Valuckienė, and the target group – active students of Šiauliai Third Age University, seniors from Latvia.

During two intensive but interesting days, the participants discussed, shared ideas and worked together to create what Positive Ageing Hub should look like – a cosy, communal place where people aged 55+ could feel needed, active and involved in public life.
The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Jurgita Joniškienė and Dr. Jūratė Valuckienė, who helped to shape a vision based on the real needs and expectations of 55+ people. The main objective of the workshop was to involve the target group in decision-making and to ensure that the future centre meets the real needs of 55+ people.

Many thanks to Jolanta Rumbiniene, Rector of Šiauliai University of the Third Age, who made this meeting a warm and nurturing experience. Your support and students’ activity is a great motivation for the project team! Such meetings prove once again that age is not a barrier to grow, learn, dream and create a better environment for yourself and others.

The project is co-funded by the European Union
