On October 29, 2024, project partners meeting for the “Restoration of Water Bodies through Cross-Border Cooperation” project (“All about ponds,” No. LL-00049) took place in Kuldiga, Latvia. During the meeting, project partners from Šilutė District and Kuldiga municipalities discussed the activities already implemented and the results achieved. The discussions covered both ecological and social initiatives aimed at improving local water bodies’ conditions and fostering international collaboration and exchanges. The partners also reviewed the next project phases and upcoming tasks to ensure the project’s long-term continuity and success.
The partners visited the Mara pond area, where pond cleaning and restoration work is underway. This visit provided an opportunity to assess the work completed so far and discuss future actions for sustainable water body restoration.
The project implementation period 01/02/2024 – 31/01/2026. Project budget – €719,720, with €575,780 in co-financing provided by the ERDF.
The project is jointly financed by the 2021–2027 Interreg VI-A Latvia-Lithuania programme and the municipalities of Šilutė District and Kuldiga.
