As part of the implementation of SnowPower project, important activities were carried out in Visaginas (Lithuania) to strengthen the winter tourism infrastructure and attract more visitors from Lithuania and neighboring countries. One of the main objectives of the project is to encourage tourists seeking active and high-quality recreation in natural surroundings to visit the Daugavpils (Latvia) and Visaginas cross-border region.
In 2024, a 1380-meter section of the Visaginas ski slope was renovated. In 2025, utilizing project savings, an additional 382.12-meter section was modernized. Altogether, 1762.12 meters of the ski slope have been upgraded.
The modernized 1.7-kilometer section now provides safe, comfortable, and modern conditions for visitors. Designed to meet the needs of skiers of all abilities, the improved slope contributes to the attractiveness of the region as a year-round destination for active recreation and winter tourism.
