Social entrepreneurship support plans being refined in Zemgale – community invited to contribute

To create an effective support system for social entrepreneurship that is tailored to local needs, the Zemgale Planning Region is organizing a cycle of six practical workshops in October and November, covering all municipalities in the region. The goal is to refine the draft action plans prepared by the municipalities together with local entrepreneurs, NGO representatives, and other stakeholders. This public engagement is a key prerequisite for ensuring the plans become effective tools for strengthening the social entrepreneurship environment in the region.

The workshop cycle is the next step in the “Re:Impact” project, following a workshop in May where specialists from the six Zemgale municipalities learned the methodology for developing these action plans. Over the past few months, based on the knowledge gained, each municipality has prepared a draft plan, identifying both challenges and opportunities for the development of social entrepreneurship.

The workshops, which will be moderated by the experienced lecturer Vita Brakovska, are designed as a practical platform for exchanging views. During these sessions, participants will have the opportunity to review their municipality’s draft action plan and provide specific, needs-based recommendations for its improvement.

The practical workshop series, titled “Action Plan for the Development of Social Entrepreneurship – Support for Positive Changes in Society,” was launched on October 14th in Jelgava. There is still an opportunity to get involved and provide input at one of the five upcoming workshops:

  • October 21, 14:00-17:00 in Dobele Municipality, at PIUAC premises, Brīvības iela 7, Dobele
  • October 31, 10:00-13:00 in Jelgava Municipality, at the social enterprise “Upeslīči atpūtai”, Līvbērze parish
