The construction works in Krustpils castle park are completed

Planned construction works were completed in Krustpils Castle park and from September 29, 2025, the park is available for visitors. Infrastructure improvements include construction of pedestrian paths and lighting, repairing the pedestrian bridge and installation of landscaping elements in Krustpils Castle park.

It is expected that these infrastructure improvements will provide better accessibility and safety in Krustpils Castle park. The installation of lights will extend the visiting hours, contributing to increased park utilization.

The accessibility of Krustpils castle park was created with the support of the European Union within the framework of the Interreg VI-A Latvia–Lithuania Programme 2021–2027, as one of project LL-00060 “Know the park in the dark” (“Park in the dark”) planned activities.

The project is implemented by the Jekabpils county municipality in cooperation with the Pasvalys district municipality in Lithuania.

Project goal is to increase the number of visitors to the cultural sites through the development of two new joint tourism products in Jekabpils and Pasvalys parks, and facilitation of the skills of tourism professionals and specialists maintaining and working with the parks’ natural objects.
