The recreational infrastructure at the Blue Flag swimming area in Beberliņi has been improved

,

In Liepāja, at the Beberliņi Blue Flag swimming area, improvement works were completed on July 2 of this year as part of the WaterWays project.

Two new changing cabins, benches, and waste bins have been installed at the swimming area, along with four bicycle racks, solar-powered lighting, informational stands and signs. Additionally, road signs have been set up to help preserve natural values by limiting car traffic in the area surrounding the beach.

The construction work for the project — Beberliņi Area Improvement in Liepāja, Phase 5 — was carried out by SIA “CTB”, with a total cost of €71,025.41. Construction supervision was handled by SIA “Euro Lux”.

The Beberliņi swimming area has been awarded the Blue Flag eco-certification, which confirms that the site meets 33 strict criteria related to water quality, environmental standards, safety, services, environmental education, and information accessibility.

During the official swimming season, from May 15 to September 15, water quality measurements are conducted and can be viewed on the municipal website:
