On 4th of June Pasvalys district municipality invited partners to Project activity: training of park maintenance specialists. Project event was held in the hall of the Joniškėlis Manor Palace. 25 participants from Jekabpils and Pasvalys municipalities attended a four-academic hour theoretical and practical course. The training was conducted by an experienced garden and park maintenance specialist, head of the landscape and greenery expert group, Steponas Deveikis. The first part of the training was dedicated to discussing theoretical issues, problems and recommendations. The training participants listened to the material prepared by the lecturer, discussed, and shared their experience, problems and achievements. The second part took place in the manor park. The lecturer practically demonstrated the methods and possibilities of tree and bushes care, provided recommendations. Much attention was paid to the prevention and treatment of plant diseases. Since many exotic species of plants grow in the park, their care is often complex and unique, therefore S. Deveikis prepared special recommendations for the care of such plants. The project activities include a total of four specialist trainings. Representatives of municipalities responsible for the care of the plants will meet twice, and tourism specialists will be invited twice. The next trainings will be organized by Jekabpils county municipality.
