International competence supervision of library employees
Librarians are not prepared to work with socially excluded groups in order to strengthen their mental health and professional competences. In order to provide these new services, it is necessary to familiarize librarians with the psychological aspects of the elderly, people with disabilities, and socially excluded adults, as well as the peculiarities of communication and education. Initial training are carried out in each institution separately. Once the librarians have acquired basic knowledge, classes are organized together with partner specialists remotely. First event will begin with an introduction where participants will share their skills and experience on the topic, discuss and define the goals for the upcoming supervisions and agree on common rules while addressing potential inner circle challenges. This will be followed by a collective brainstorming session focused on identifying unclear areas within the topic and the main difficulties professionals face when working with vulnerable client groups in a library context. 15 participants are participating in these trainings.
