On October 18, Koknese Park and the medieval castle ruins will become a place where history and modern technology meet. Visitors are invited to explore the past through augmented reality adventures in the park and step back into medieval life inside the ancient castle walls — reclaiming lost history.

All day from 09:00 — Digital Orienteering Adventure
Join a thrilling digital orienteering game featuring brand-new augmented reality objects that bring back the lost nature, history, and cultural stories of Koknese Park.

The orienteering challenge is designed for teams of at least two participants.
To take part, you will need two smartphones — one for the orienteering app and another for scanning QR codes to unlock the augmented reality experiences.

On the event day, simply download the “Actionbound” app and scan the QR code located at the Koknese castle ruins customer service booth to start an exciting orienteering game through Koknese Park.
By following the clues, you’ll uncover lost history and enjoy an active day in nature.

The three best teams will receive surprise prizes after the event.

10:30 — Official Opening Ceremony at Koknese Castle Ruins

11:00–14:00 — Boat Trips on the Daugava & Pērse Rivers
See Koknese’s landscapes and the revived heritage from a whole new perspective.

• Boat departures at 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, and 14:00 from the pier by the castle ruins.

11:00–15:00 — Medieval Adventure at Koknese Castle Ruins
Step into the Middle Ages — try on armor, see historical weapons, visit soldiers’ tents, play ancient board games, practice archery, taste medieval dishes, and discover the mysterious daily life of the Order’s knights.
