International competence supervision of library employees

Responsible partner:

Librarians are not prepared to work with socially excluded groups in order to strengthen their mental health and professional competences. In order to provide these new services, it is necessary to familiarize librarians with the psychological aspects of the elderly, people with disabilities, and socially excluded adults, as well as the peculiarities of communication and education. Initial training are carried out in each institution separately. Once the librarians have acquired basic knowledge, classes are organized together with partner specialists remotely. Attention will be given to emotional resilience – how to manage one’s own intense emotions, triggers and external stimuli while maintaining a supportive and professional approach. The practical design of sensory environments in libraries, best practices for sensory activities and common mistakes to avoid. The program will also address the most typical developmental challenges, the impact of screen exposure and observable behaviors and their underlying meanings. The event will conclude with a summary of the key topics discussed and a mutual feedback session among participants. 15 participants are participating in these trainings.
