On December 12, a practical seminar “Public Health Monitoring Methodology and its Development in Daugavpils” was held in Daugavpils, which was implemented within the framework of the project “Active involvement of communities to improve healthy lifestyles habits”, ActiHealth / No. LL-00167. The seminar brought together physiotherapists, nurses and doctor’s assistant who actively participated in discussions and workshops on public health surveillance and methods of promoting health. The seminar covered several important topics that provide practical tools and knowledge to improve public health surveillance processes. Experts shared the strengths and weaknesses of the methods, as well as explored the opportunities that arise from using different data collection and analysis methods. Inter-institutional cooperation, which is necessary for the effective use of health data, was also highlighted as a key issue.
The participants developed a survey questionnaire that will be used to study the health promotion habits of the city’s residents. The aim of the survey is to obtain high-quality data that will help create sound statistics and effectively plan health promotion and disease prevention measures in Daugavpils in the future.
The event was organized by the Daugavpils City Municipality in cooperation with the Daugavpils University agency “Daugavpils University Daugavpils Medical College”. Participants recognized that such initiatives are very important to promote public awareness of health monitoring and improving long-term well-being.
Bringing health promotion specialists together is an important step towards a healthier and more educated Daugavpils society, where every resident can gain knowledge and support in promoting a healthy lifestyle.
