From October 16 to 18, 2024, three employees of the Kretinga Youth Centre participated in the work shadowing visit of the “Hand in Hand” project to Saldus. Since the Kretinga Youth Centre is only operating for the second year, the main goal was to gain experience, learn examples of good practice and get to know how work with young people is done in Saldus municipality.
On the first day, colleagues from Lithuania got to know the Saldus youth home, learned about the organization of Saldus BJC’s work with youth, and also visited the youth room in Zvārde rural territory.
On the second day, they visited the Jaunlutriņi youth room, stopped at the Social House to leave a message for the participants of the joint summer camp, and already in the afternoon went on a mobile trip to Ezere.
On the third day, colleagues from Lithuania learned how the Social Service organizes work with young people – met with social workers and visited the Multipurpose Centre “Jumis”. In the afternoon, participated in the activities organized by the Brocēni Youth House.
